How many of you have had thoughts of leaving the country?

Content is King

Content, they say that content is king and is the cornerstone of a successful blog. Sure, this makes sense to me…after all, who wants to read schlock! But, think of our generation, Generation X/Y (those of us born right on the cusp). What could we possible contribute to the net at this time? Aren’t all of the best ideas and new concepts absorbed? Maybe yes, maybe no! After all, we HAVE to go somewhere for here. Perhaps where we go follows the same track of the movie makers. There are no more original concepts, so we turn to rehashing the works of those before us. Hell, they made a “Hulk” movie three times over now! Ludicrous! (speed). Perhaps it’s just overstimulation, there are too many choices and not enough time to focus on a specific topic. Or perhaps our society, which has veered away from single-subject experts in lieu of a more “rounded” individual have now found itself with too many of these broad-knowledge individuals incapable of creating original content. Sure, I have passions, but there are others out there with the same passion who do that full time…dare I throw my hat in the ring with them…nope.

Did you ever say to yourself...we should just move to Canada?

For some time now I have been experiencing these feelings of dread about our country. Taking in all of the media pessimism, the scandals, the betrayals, and idiocy that has overcome the good ol’ U S of A, I fancy that life may be better or “the grass may be greener” somewhere else in this world. I worry about my family’s safety and future daily. When I read about Governors selling senate seats, and rich tycoons dragging hundreds down the tubes with them…I just don’t know. What kind of country will this be in 10, 20, and 30 years down the road? There are signposts everywhere that our educational system is failing and that our society is collapsing…is it time to get out?

Mastermind...Really?

"BAGHDAD (AP) — Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki moved Monday to undermine the popularity of the Iraqi who threw his shoes at President George W. Bush, saying the journalist confessed that the mastermind of the attack was a militant"

Mastermind...really? This was an excerpt from yesterday's news feed. So, the person who "masterminded" this attack on Bush is...intelligent? The only thing that comes to mind is John Stewart on the Daily Show going "you see...what you are gonna do is...take off your shoe...and throw it at him. THEN!...take off your other shoe and throw that too!" Yes this is a brilliant strategy...my one year old son could have devised a more intricate plan of attack!

Mastermind indeed!
